For this project, I took apart a broken microwave oven and harvested the High-Voltage Transformer(MOT). I then switched out the 30 gauge secondary coil with a much thicker 2/0 gauge coil to output high current rather than high voltage. This let me use the transformer as a spot welder to easily weld things like sheet metal together. This also gives you the ability to heat up and even melt metal.
